DOES WEALTH MEASURE GOOD?

A life of opulence is an enticing deal,
But there’s more to the bargain than what
most see.
When worms of deceit wriggle in every story
The wealthy bask in their frivolous glory.
The sincere toil hard, putting their ambition
to test,
They take the long road, not often desired by
the rest.
Is the other path fair, built on the toil of
those you claim as kin?
Is it truly a fair win, when the gold you gain
leaves you empty within?

Riches glitter, but they tarnish with time,
The bonds you forsake once felt sublime.
In the end, will you remember the cruel game
you played?
Or take comfort in the innocent times that
never stayed?
What value does gold hold when it’s the heart
it divides?
Shattering years of trust when love subsides.
Did you ever ponder the path you chose?
Without endless greed in your eyes, we could
have been close.
