Now, who doesn’t like a good murder mystery? But have you ever read a whodunnit in which four suspects seem to share a close bond with the victim, yet are strangers to one another? But for some reason, all of them become targets of cryptic messages that force them to revisit their dark past involving the murder of an unnamed girl. Who could be sending these messages? And out of the four suspects, Abhir, Mihir, Luv and Navya, who is the real culprit? As a reader, you are bound to find your answers in the book, but beware, the journey is a lot more twisted and confounding than most thrillers in bookstores.

I originally started this blog to support indie writers on their book marketing journey through genuine reviews. So, after three months since the last Indie book review, I was really excited to delve into this underrated, thrilling saga after the beautiful book cover caught my eye at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026!

One thing that really stood out for me in this book is Poorna’s writing style! The novel is stylistically rich, and her approach to telling this particular story adds a sense of dread and eerie foreboding to the narrative, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I rarely read thrillers or fiction in general in one sitting, but this book was an exception. I don’t want to delve into the details of this story, but I will say that if you like reading a story with slow-burning tension and measured build-up with explosive climax, then The Not So Innocent Murder is the perfect read for you! This plot works reasonably well as a novella, but I believe it could stand out a bit more as a standalone short story! As a compelling whodunnit and a unique psychological thriller, I would love to give his story a rating of 3.5/5!
